How it works

Time is the only thing you cannot buy.

Four moves. The chain keeps the score, and nobody can carve a hold they did not do.

  1. 1

    Buy

A buy takes rocks from the front of the Quarry, oldest first. Rock #1 went to the first buyer. One whole SROCK is one rock; a fraction is just a fraction.

  2. 2

    Hold

While you hold a rock, your name is carved on it and grows with your hold. Only the five longest holds stay on the rock. Same-block holds never count.

  3. 3

    Write

Holders can write up to 20 characters on their own line, at 0.001 ETH per character. Every wei buys SROCK and burns it.

  4. 4

    Crush

When a burn takes supply below a whole number, the emptiest rock in the Quarry is crushed: fewest carvings, then fewest quote characters, then oldest in line. A held rock is never crushed.

The rules

Can I sell?

Always, with no tax. Your newest rock goes to the back of the Quarry, and your carvings stay on it.

Why is my name an address?

Only addresses are stored. A verified primary .eth name is shown at view time; anything else is the short address. An expired name falls back, so nobody can wear yours.

Can I pick a specific rock?

Buys always take the front of the Quarry. To move one specific rock, transfer the NFT; it takes one whole token with it.

What does a rock do?

Nothing. Like the pet rocks of 2017, these serve no purpose beyond being held and remembering who held them.

Why are some of my rocks owed?

Buy on the sRock pool and your rocks arrive in the same transaction. Tokens that reach you any other way (another pool, a router that splits the trade, a liquidity withdrawal) land in your wallet at once, but their rocks follow one transaction later. Inside a single transaction the contract cannot tell bought tokens from borrowed ones, and borrowed tokens carrying rocks would let anyone shuffle the Quarry for free. Once the transaction is over the tokens are clearly yours, so the rocks are owed to you: your next buy delivers them, or claim them anytime from Your rocks.

How many rocks?

500 at launch. Never more, fewer every time a quote crushes one.
